Thousands of people around the world took part in the International Day of Laughing on Sunday. Above, scores of chucklers assembled in front of the Eiffel Tower as part of the event, which was held to highlight the therapeutic value of laughter. Meanwhile, across the Channel, Manchester United's Kieran Richardson and Matt Holland of Charlton Athletic did their part for the cause by repeatedly kneeing each other in the groin, inspiring giggles in the large and appreciative Manchester, England crowd.
